Yesterday, I stumbled upon a post by Seek sharing advice for job seekers in interviews. One tip caught my eye – they suggested avoiding bright colors.

Wait, what? If that were true, I probably wouldn’t have landed any of the jobs I’ve interviewed for in the past!

Their reasoning? Bright colors could be distracting. But let’s pause and consider: is it really a distraction, or does it make you stand out? Here’s my take, straight from the Weirdsdom Wiz: wear what makes you feel comfortable and confident. Whether it’s bold patterns or vibrant hues, own it.

Now, I’m not saying you should show up to a law office interview in your vintage Kiss t-shirt from the 70s. But if a splash of orange on your blouse raises eyebrows with the interview panel, maybe they’re not the right fit for you. And that’s okay! Be grateful for the clarity.
