I recently broke my 300+ day streak on Duolingo. It happened when I was away from home without my usual device for the app. Funny thing is, I completely forgot I could log in via the website and keep up with my daily practice.

Even though I had enough streak freezes to cover the gap, I didn’t jump back into my routine right away when I returned home. It only took four days for resistance to kick in, and it was five more before I got back on track. But you know what? That’s okay.

A pause isn’t a dead end; it’s a moment to recharge. At worst, it’s just a hiccup. When you do get back on track, you’re not starting from square one. You’re beginning anew, but with a head start, carrying forward all your previous progress. We all experience these moments at some point. Remember, it’s okay. You can do it!

starting again is different to starting over. When you start again you, you are bringing all that you have learnt before with you.
